About Our Products

Are your products really handmade?

Yes — every single piece is made by hand. Our wooden charms are hand-carved, hand-sanded, and hand-painted one at a time. Our wool felt pieces are needle-felted or hand-shaped individually. No two pieces are ever exactly alike, which is part of what makes them special.

What wood do you use for your wooden pieces?

We use natural linden wood (also known as basswood) — a fine-grained, lightweight wood that is ideal for detailed hand carving. It has a smooth, warm texture and takes paint beautifully. All of our wood comes from naturally fallen or aged sources. We do not use wood from living trees.

What is your wool felt made from?

Our wool felt pieces are made from natural wool fiber. We use wool that has been naturally shed by sheep during their natural shedding cycle — not forcibly sheared. We are committed to using materials that are kind to animals and the environment.

My item looks slightly different from the photo. Is this normal?

Yes, this is completely normal and expected with handmade goods. Because every piece is carved, painted, or felted by hand, there will be small natural variations in color tone, wood grain, texture, and finish between individual pieces. These differences are not defects — they are the signature of something made by a human hand, not a machine. We consider them part of the beauty of handmade work.

Are your products safe? Are the paints non-toxic?

Yes. We use non-toxic, water-based paints and finishes on all of our wooden pieces. Our products are designed as decorative accessories and collectibles for adults. They are not intended as toys for young children.

How big are the pieces?

Our pieces are small by design — most wooden keychains and bag charms are approximately 3–6 cm in height, and our felt charms are similarly compact. Exact dimensions are listed on each individual product page. They are designed to be lightweight and easy to carry every day.

What is the difference between your wooden keychains and your car mirror charms?

Our wooden keychains and bag charms are smaller pieces designed to attach to keys, bags, backpacks, or phones. Our car mirror charms are slightly larger hanging ornaments designed to hang from a car’s rearview mirror — they often feature longer cords or decorative beading. Both collections are hand-carved from the same natural linden wood.

Do you make custom or personalized pieces?

We do not currently offer custom orders through our standard store. If you have a specific request, please reach out to us at support@miulifestore.com and we will let you know if we are able to accommodate it.

Materials & Ethics

Are your products environmentally friendly?

We are deeply committed to ethical and sustainable sourcing. Our wood comes exclusively from naturally fallen or aged trees — we never cut living trees. Our wool is naturally shed, not forcibly sheared. We choose natural, renewable materials wherever possible and avoid synthetic alternatives.

I heard you donate $2 from every order. Where does it go?

Yes! For every order placed at MiU Life, we donate $2 to support environmental conservation and animal welfare causes. We believe that small actions add up — and we want every purchase to contribute to something larger than just a beautiful object.

Orders & Shipping

How long will it take to receive my order?

Because every piece is made by hand after your order is placed, please allow time for both handcrafting and shipping:

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! We offer free standard shipping on all orders worldwide. If you need your order sooner, express shipping is available at checkout for an additional fee.

Will I receive a tracking number?

Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number so you can follow your package’s journey.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Please note that international orders may be subject to customs duties or import taxes charged by your country’s customs authority. These fees are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in our product prices or shipping fees.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Because we begin handcrafting your piece shortly after your order is placed, we can only accommodate changes or cancellations within 24 hours of purchase. Please contact us as soon as possible at support@miulifestore.com if you need to make a change.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for unused items in their original condition. Please visit our Returns & Refunds Policy page for full details.

My item arrived damaged. What should I do?

We are so sorry to hear that. Please contact us within 7 days of delivery at support@miulifestore.com with your order number and a photo of the damage. We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

How long does a refund take?

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method. Your bank may require additional time to post the refund to your account.

Care & Maintenance

How do I care for my wooden charm?

Our wooden pieces are finished with a protective coating, but we recommend keeping them away from prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and extreme heat. If your piece gets dusty, gently wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Avoid using chemical cleaners or submerging in water.

How do I care for my wool felt charm?

Wool felt pieces should be kept dry and away from moisture. If needed, spot-clean gently with a barely damp cloth and allow to air dry completely. Do not machine wash or submerge in water. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.

Will the paint on my wooden charm fade over time?

With normal everyday use, the paint on our wooden pieces is designed to be durable. However, like all handmade and painted objects, some natural aging may occur over time, especially with heavy use or exposure to moisture and sunlight. We consider this gentle patina part of the charm of a handmade object that has been carried and loved.

Are your products good as gifts?

Absolutely. Our pieces are designed to be gifted — they are small, meaningful, beautifully made, and suitable for a wide range of occasions including birthdays, holidays, housewarmings, graduations, and everyday appreciation gifts. Many customers choose pieces that reflect the recipient’s favorite animal, lucky symbol, or personal aesthetic.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

We take care with every order’s packaging to ensure it arrives beautifully presented. If you have a specific gift message you would like included, please leave a note at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate it.
